Leadership advisers are expert in one or more strategic areas, having successfully led these areas within schools.  They are able to coach or supervise senior leaders, or support improvement projects in their areas of expertise for individuals, departments, key groups of colleagues, or for one or more whole-schools.  Leadership advisers are adept at a variety of governance and diagnostic work at all levels.

Matthew has over 20 years’ experience working within a variety of schools, from inner city comprehensives to academically selective grammar schools. As part of the Tudor Grange Academies Trust for the last 11 years, Matthew has developed his passion for behaviour and standards and has been influential in supporting principals and senior leadership teams as they embed the Tudor Values and expectations. Matthew always has time to get to know students and staff which is a greatly valued attribute.

Sarah has two decades of experience working in primary schools, and has occupied a range of leadership roles during that time. As an experienced leader and SENCo she is passionate about providing opportunities for all children to flourish and is ambitious when supporting others to develop inclusive practices.  Sarah has experience across all phases of primary education, but has a particular interest in working with others to promote high standards of provision in the Early Years Foundation Stage to secure strong long-term outcomes for all pupils.  Sarah takes pride in developing a holistic and personal approach to her leadership, and values the individuality of schools, their staff and pupils.

Emma has over a decade of experience of coaching and mentoring trainees, teachers and leaders at all stages of their career. Her roles as Director of Teaching School Hub, and Strategic Lead for Origin maths Hub enable her to facilitate, develop and evaluate professional development programmes for a variety of audiences, and across many schools. She is a Local Leader of Education and is passionate about the school-led system increasing the self-efficacy and autonomy of teachers and leaders. Emma is committed to research-led practices and is currently undertaking a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership.

John is a highly skilled and successful leadership adviser and chairs the School Improvement Board.  As a deputy headteacher, and part of an outstanding leadership team in a school serving a deprived community, John gained experience leading on assessment, data, curriculum and Sixth Form whilst writing his doctoral thesis on school leadership, and staff motivation and wellbeing.  He has since supported leaders of all levels in many schools both inside and outside the Trust.

Caroline has 13 years’ experience working within schools. She has a passion to support pupils to achieve their full academic and social potential by helping to identify and break down barriers contributing to poor school attendance. Caroline leads a professional attendance welfare function that is integral to the trust; she strives for excellence and supports senior managers to deliver their key outcomes. As well as ensuring that the TGAT Attendance and Punctuality Policy is updated and followed throughout the Trust, Caroline provides strong support to staff; she is flexible with her approach and enjoys the daily challenges of this role.

With 14 years of experience on the safeguarding frontline, working within the sectors of criminal justice and education, risk management and public protection have become instinctive for Rachael. She has the knowledge and expertise to provide training, ongoing operational support, as well as centralised governance across the Trust. Rachael provides continuous support to all Designated Safeguarding Leads and their respective teams to ensure that high standards in all areas of this work are established and maintained. This focus is vital to ensure that all practice and procedures are effective and that all children in our care are robustly safeguarded. Rachael also works to steer the comprehensive quality assurance calendar throughout the year and works closely with the Executive Team to ensure that areas of strength and development are monitored and any identified gaps closed.        

Tom has over a decade of experience working on leadership teams in different school contexts. He has a particular interest in character development and flourishing as the aim of education.

Originally an English teacher, Charlotte has over 15 years of experience leading teaching and learning.  For much of this time, Charlotte has been an educational adviser, and has successfully supported many schools in transforming the quality of their provision.  Thoughtful, thorough, and guided by research, Charlotte is quickly able to establish positive relationships with teachers and leaders of all levels of experience that enable them and their teams to improve their practice. 

With 16 years’ experience in education, Clare is a skilled teacher, Specialist Leader of Education, Designated Safeguarding Lead and SENCo, having completed the National Award for SEN Co-ordination in 2012. Before moving into a Trust role, she was a senior leader in a school with a high level of SEND and safeguarding need and has experience in providing support and guidance in these two areas to leaders in a range of schools, both primary and secondary, delivering training, developing policy and systems and undertaking quality assurance and other governance activities. Clare is passionate about ensuring the needs of all pupils are met, both in and outside of the classroom.
